Beneath the Azure Sky in TOPS at Busay

Staring at the blank screen for almost half an hour, expecting some ideas to flash in my mind, I was frustrated. I shut it off with a plan to work on this the following day, then on the day after the following, then on the next day, and so on…Boom! Oh my… Procrastination or simply laziness hit me. Oh well, I gotta work or else I’ll regret this forever. Procrastination should not happen again because I hate it when I fail. I have missed my December entry. Since it’s 2015, here is my resolution: to have two or more entries per month as I embark on the new year with endless possibilities.

So here’s my first entry in 2015, starting from the TOPS…

My friends and I have decided to celebrate our birthdays by going somewhere else. The highlight of our trips is taking portraits, just like what I have posted here on my birthday. (Cheers to my One Score and Four Years) I love this concept because it enables me to explore my creativity and experience first-hand the places that we visit. This time it’s Nin’s birthday and we went to Tops, Busay, Cebu City. Aside from the photos captured during my wanders, I also want to offer some bits of information in my blog. So, here are some pieces of information of my Tops experience.

Since TOPS is a popular tourist destination, one can easily take a taxi or a “habal-habal” (motorcycle). A habal-habal ride is cheaper than a taxi ride. It’s Php 200.00 per passenger back and forth. (The drivers of the “habal-habal” are willing to wait.) As experienced, the motorcycle ride was exhilarating as I soared high toward the mountain top seeing the alluring panoramic mountain view and feeling the bone chilling temperature.

The Tops entrance fee was Php100.00 per person. Once inside, you will notice that the main ground is decorated with concrete in hexagon form surrounded by Bermuda grass. The architectural design in Tops is unique and distinct because it has interesting concrete structure design in curves and circles. The tables and seats which can be used by anyone are made of concrete, too. There were stalls that sold snacks and souvenir items. And there was a bell that people enjoyed banging.

Shown below are the estimated expenses to go to Tops, Busay
  • 200.00 Php/pax – Habal-habal fare from JY Square Mall to Tops, Busay (back and forth)
  • 100.00 Php/pax – Entrance Fee
A total of 300.00 Php/pax
*food, souvenirs and miscellaneous fees are not included

Tops is a great place for viewing Cebu City, the only activity the place can give. I may say it was not worth the 100-peso entrance fee. At any rate, viewing Cebu City on a mountain top offered great photo opportunities. I took the chance and enjoyed the moments with my friends.

Here are our photos of our Tops experience.

Chasing Potatoes

Why Chasing Potatoes? I’m Chasing Potatoes. I chase time and opportunities because just like round potatoes they roll and get lost. I chase them to store memories to last a lifetime. I make haste, running after them, fearful that they might be gone. That’s why I go places on land or in water. My story tells about the journey of chasing time and saying yes to wonderful opportunities.
