After our exhausting climb in Lake Janagdan, we were met by a spectacular scenery, yet we were also greeted by danger that lurked in the corner. As I trod along the majestic trail, there was an instant when I held on to a thorny plant and the thorns pierced both of my palms. I almost cried because of the pain. LAKE JANAGDAN : What It’s Like to Climb to the Crater of a Dormant Volcano

PART ONE: What it is Like to Try Major Climb for the First Time

 

I just had my first ever major climb on the highest highland of Eastern Visayas, the Alto Peak also known as Mt. Aminduen. But before reaching Mt. Alto we also summitted its neighbor, Mt. Janagdan, a dormant volcano. This volcano boasts of its stunning and enchanting Lake Janagdan located on its crater.
