BALAMBAN : Living it Up! (Part 1)

The scorching heat of the sun right now makes one think the Earth is aging. And so am I. I’ve got to do something with my life before I get too old. This may sound crazy, but seriously speaking, the heat drives me crazy. So, I’ve been thinking of going somewhere to cool down my nervous system and freshen life a bit. Life is short and I must have fun. Balamban would be a right venue. It is cooler and just nearby.
There are times when sadness envelopes me and I don’t even know the reason at all. Maybe I just need a break and a short escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
I have found the answer. The reason why I am alive is to enjoy life, have fun and live without regrets.

Good thing I am not alone in this adventure. My good friends  all agreed that Balamban will be a next big escape. Moreover, one of my friends, Raphel Marie will celebrate her birthday. (HAHA, I bet this will be her unforgettable birthday ever.
Giovanni, Niña Jeanne and Jade
At 8 am in the morning, my friends and I met at Ayala Terminal. We took a V-hire for Php 120.00 to Gaas, Balamban, Cebu. After an hour we arrived at our destination. We stopped at ADVENTURE CAFE, the first resto adventure cafe in the Philippines. We had lunch there. Yeah. the food was okay. Cost of food ranged from Php 150.00 to Php 200.00! What has adventure cafe  to offer?…ZIP LINING, RAPPELLING, WALL CLIMBING, STRESS WALL, WATERFALLS TREKKING, CAVING AND LOVE LOCK. (love lock just like in Korea and Paris, but the padlocks are all the same. I wish they have assorted designs of padlocks.  😦

Walang Forever, lol!
“Beware the hobby that eats.”
We tried ZIP LINE. I’ve gone through this several times but still the scary feeling prevails.  My heart would beat  fast and my palms would sweat profusely. But I conquered my fear. I’m ALIVE! Haha! “Adrenaline is wonderful. It covers pain. It covers dementia. It covers everything” – Jerry Lewis.

After that, we went to ISLAND IN THE SKY RESORT and decided to stay there at night because we wanted to see the early morning fog from there. Cost of room ranged from 1500 to 4500 pesos! There were ZIPLINE and CABLE CAR in the resort. We tried CABLE CAR. It was really slow, but the slower it moves, the longer the time you’d have to see and admire the lovely scenery. My GOD, the view from above was extremely beautiful! It seemed I was in Heaven watching the earth below! MAGNIFICENT!

Our next activity was watching the sunset. Wow, as the sun set that afternoon,  Mother nature splashed wonderful colors like yellow, red and orange. I love the sight. I didn’t want the moment to end. But time did not stand still. Night came. Goodbye Mr. SUN
The Birthday Girl, Raphel!

Blurry, but still I love the effect of this shot, I have to include it! 🙂
Then my friends Giovanni, Jade, Raphel  and Niña decided for a night swim. I didn’t have the feel of swimming so I just watched them having fun!
Then it was the time to sleep. . .
Here’s our video on our first day in Balamban.

Chasing Potatoes

Why Chasing Potatoes? I’m Chasing Potatoes. I chase time and opportunities because just like round potatoes they roll and get lost. I chase them to store memories to last a lifetime. I make haste, running after them, fearful that they might be gone. That’s why I go places on land or in water. My story tells about the journey of chasing time and saying yes to wonderful opportunities.
