Lechon Queen: Cebu’s Deliciously Healthy Twist

It’s Been a Minute…

It’s been a long time since I last set foot in Cebu and wow, how I’ve missed it. My last visit here was such a chaotic, drama-filled ride that it felt like a teleserye. That’s why, before doing anything else—before making trips, detours, and foodie stops, I knew I had to visit Sto. Niño Church first. I wanted to say my prayers, give thanks and reflect on the journey and lessons life has handed me. ❤️

Limited Time, Maximum Flavor: A Siargao Food Adventure

I was able to travel to Siargao in January of last year for work. But before I even started talking about the delicious cuisine I had in Siargao, I couldn’t help but share my delight when I saw a Siargao tricycle as soon as I stepped out of the airport. Another one for my trike collection! (Check out my trike adventures here…) I felt like a kid in a candy store with another trike added to my list, woohoo! 🤩😍

June Jitters in the Island: Steps, Scooters & Feasts

My Chaotic 10k Steps

Our 10,000 step challenge with my nieces turned into a hilarious scramble! Every scenic spot, like the beautiful mangrove river view and even a charming corner of the plaza that reminded me of Baguio, became a photo op. We grabbed cheap iced coffee (mine for 39 pesos, theirs sans caffeine!), then settled by the baywalk to capture the fiery sunset. It was stunning, but just as the sun dipped down, a swarm of flying termites attacked!

Tristan’s Pizza Hauz: A Pizza Experience with a Side of Sunset in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island

Harold had been craving pizza ever since he set foot on Bantayan Island. That’s the only food he constantly mentions as we headed to Santa Fe. (Haha! As if there’s no pizza in Cebu, LOL.😋) Then he suggested that we go for a swim at the beach and then look for a pizza place. I agreed, but then I had a better idea. (Ding! Lightbulb moment 💡, haha 😆)

“Why don’t we do both together?” I asked. “We can have pizza by the beach!”

The Winds of August: A Diary

Rainy Day, A Perfect Story, and An Unplanned Trip – Second Week of August 2023

Last week, I decided to cut out sugar. I had been feeling some unpleasant symptoms already (HAHA gor na me! 🥹) and I was proud of myself for reaching seven days without it. I still ate rice, though, and drank coffee, but I didn’t add any sugar. I felt great after seven days! I had more energy, my skin cleared up, and I lost a few pounds. I’m going to continue cutting out sugar, and I’m excited to see how I feel in a few weeks.
