Tristan’s Pizza Hauz: A Pizza Experience with a Side of Sunset in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island

Harold had been craving pizza ever since he set foot on Bantayan Island. That’s the only food he constantly mentions as we headed to Santa Fe. (Haha! As if there’s no pizza in Cebu, LOL.😋) Then he suggested that we go for a swim at the beach and then look for a pizza place. I agreed, but then I had a better idea. (Ding! Lightbulb moment 💡, haha 😆)

“Why don’t we do both together?” I asked. “We can have pizza by the beach!”

I remember a restaurant where my sister introduced me to it, and it instantly popped into my brain cell because the food there was great and it had a splendid view of the beach.

So off we went to TRISTAN’S PIZZA HAUZ AND RESTAURANT.

The restaurant was very quaint and cozy, with wooden furniture and bamboo accents. Different shells and ornaments dangled from the ceiling and walls. The plants were mostly snake plants, which accentuated the interior. There were also colorful fabrics draping from the ceiling, hinting at a vibrant atmosphere. The floor was covered in sand, giving the place a tropical aesthetic.

MENU AND PRICELIST

WHAT WE ORDERED

I ordered an avocado shake without sugar, because sugar is not good for me charowt ( katabang diay uy! 🥲) HAHA. And also Harold ordered Mexicana (spicy) pizza, because spicy food is life! lol, hehe🌶️😍

MEXICANA (SPICY) PHP 650.OO

AVOCADO SHAKE PHP 125.00 a total of PHP 775.00

After we placed our orders, Harold immediately went for a swim. When the order was served 10 minutes later, he almost devoured the whole pizza. Just kidding! Luckily, he was kind enough to give me some slices.😂

The avocado shake was thick and creamy, with a strong avocado flavor. The only thing I would have changed is that I wish the ice had been shaken a bit more so I didn’t have to bite into any ice as I sipped it. I rate the avocado shake 7 out of 10 🤭. But the Mexican (spicy) pizza was delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and the spice level was perfect for me. I loved how cheesy it was, and the mozzarella was fresh and had a nice, stringy texture when it melted. I also loved that they served the sauces and condiments on the side, so I could add a bit of salt, pepper, hot sauce, or tomato ketchup to my liking. Overall, I enjoyed my meal very much. I would give the pizza a rating of 10 out of 10😍, and the view and the scenery a rating of 1,000,000 out of 10. I was amazed that guests are allowed to take a dip in the sea for free. Harold did just that, while I was happy to enjoy the beautiful scenery while eating my pizza. nom nom !🍕

The most enthralling part of our experience there, aside from eating that delicious pizza, was when the sun was setting and the sky was ablaze with color! The scene of the sky and the placid sea was fascinating and mesmerizing. The sky seemed to be split in two, with one half being blue and the other half being a riot of colors. I don’t know what phenomenon caused this, but I definitely loved this view! Another core memory! Yiiiieeeeee! 😍The picture we took does look edited, but I’m sure it’s not too far off from what it actually looked like.

The pizza was a bit of a splurge, but it was an unforgettable experience. I loved everything about the restaurant: the relaxing view of the ocean, the peaceful atmosphere like there was a moment when the only sound was the waves crashing into the shore, I also loved the delectable food that was cooked to perfection, except for my avocado shake, haha 😅. The gift of a beautiful sunset was such an awesome experience there. The weather was just perfect at that time, giving us the relaxation we needed.❤️

HOW TO GET THERE

We got lost trying to locate the restaurant, but thankfully, the locals were willing to show us the way.

Chasing Potatoes

Why Chasing Potatoes? I’m Chasing Potatoes. I chase time and opportunities because just like round potatoes they roll and get lost. I chase them to store memories to last a lifetime. I make haste, running after them, fearful that they might be gone. That’s why I go places on land or in water. My story tells about the journey of chasing time and saying yes to wonderful opportunities.
