Lechon Queen: Cebu’s Deliciously Healthy Twist

It’s Been a Minute…

It’s been a long time since I last set foot in Cebu and wow, how I’ve missed it. My last visit here was such a chaotic, drama-filled ride that it felt like a teleserye. That’s why, before doing anything else—before making trips, detours, and foodie stops, I knew I had to visit Sto. Niño Church first. I wanted to say my prayers, give thanks and reflect on the journey and lessons life has handed me. ❤️

Next Mission: Food

After that spiritual pause, it was time for my next mission… food. I’ve been on a low-carb journey lately (though I admit, I do cheat sometimes 🤭). Last year I lost 10 kilos, but with the occasional cheat days from November to this year, I’ve been stuck at 80 kilos. Lol bwahahaha. Still, the goal is the same—fit and sexy (HAHAHA) 🤣 and hopefully, back to strict low-carb again.

Cebu Lechon, but Make It Clean

You know Cebu is famous for its lechon, but here’s the thing: most lechon here comes with sugar, MSG, or sweet sauces—delicious, yes, but definitely not low-carb–friendly.

That’s where Lechon Queen comes in.

Enter: Lechon Queen

Drum roll please… 🥁

And then, Lechon Queen came through. Imagine eating lechon without totally ruining your diet. The crispy skin, the tender and juicy meat… and the fact that it’s free from MSG? That’s a blessing in itself. My foodie side and my “healthy me” finally agreed on something for once. haha lol 🤣

Their unique blend of herbs and spices makes the meat flavorful all throughout, so you don’t need any artificial enhancers. Just clean, tasty lechon at its best.

What We Ordered

  • Noble and Royal Lechon – Their signature flavors, each delicious in its own right. (My personal favorite? Noble 👑.) The skin crackled like tiny fireworks in my mouth, and the meat was flavorful and tender. Harold and his mom thought it was a little light on salt…but hey, that’s what being MSG-free tastes like. Clean eating with no guilt.
  • Tepache Sparkling Probiotic Drink – Refreshing and fizzy, the perfect palate cleanser.
  • Kefir Soda (Live Cultured Sparkling Probiotic Drink) – Great if you don’t like sodas but still want something bubbly. A healthy companion for lechon, especially for digestion.
  • Royal Vinegar – All-natural and spiced with Carolina Reapers. Tangy, fiery, and oh-so-good. Warning: this will make you sweat, not from the heat of Cebu but from the spice kick. 😂🔥
  • Roasted Chicken – We didn’t order this one, but it’s worth mentioning: they also serve roasted chicken with no MSG, no sugar, no artificial flavors, no hormones, no antibiotics, and yes it’s keto-friendly too.

Go Full-On Cebu Mode

Of course, if you want the full Cebu lechon experience, you can always have it with puso (hanging rice) and a dip in their signature vinegar. Tangy, savory, spicy ..just the perfect partner to that crispy, juicy goodness. The kind of combo that makes you sweat… because if you’re not sweating, it’s not the real deal. Lol! Hahahaha. Just kidding—anyhoo…

Friendly Service + Content-Creator Friendly

Another thing I loved about Lechon Queen is the staff. They’re very friendly and accommodating…anything we needed, they served right away (dayon gyud ba 😄). They’re also super game if you like making content. Whether you’re snapping foodie photos, shooting TikToks, or vlogging, they’ll gladly support you with a smile.

Parking Convenience

And don’t worry, parking space here is not a problem. You can enjoy your lechon without stressing about where to leave your car.

Location

📍 Lechon Queen is located at the Horizons Row Food Park along General Maxilom (Mango) Avenue—right beside Horizons 101, between Domino’s Pizza and Tokyo2. Easy to spot, and definitely worth the stop.

Closing Bite

Lechon Queen isn’t just another lechon spot. It’s proof that you can indulge and still stick to your healthy lifestyle (well, most of the time 😅). With clean, MSG-free lechon, probiotic drinks, roasted chicken and fiery vinegar to spice things up, it’s Cebu’s royal twist on a Filipino favorite.

So whether you’re low-carb like me or just after the best-tasting lechon in town, Lechon Queen deserves a spot on your Cebu food trip itinerary.

Chasing Potatoes

Why Chasing Potatoes? I’m Chasing Potatoes. I chase time and opportunities because just like round potatoes they roll and get lost. I chase them to store memories to last a lifetime. I make haste, running after them, fearful that they might be gone. That’s why I go places on land or in water. My story tells about the journey of chasing time and saying yes to wonderful opportunities.
