Sometimes, satisfying my cravings for food by buying and cooking it at home is not enough. I still yearn for a better place to savor the kind of meal I desired — a place which would awaken my senses, where I would watch the sun set on the horizon, view the sea, the clouds, the sky as it changes its colors; and then catch the sight of the moon and stars as they begin to show off their radiance, observe the boats pass by, hear the ocean waves as they splash against the seawall, smell the salty breeze of the ocean, feel the refreshing air as it caresses my skin and, of course, indulge myself the flavors of these savory food that I have been yearning for a long time. Dzibah, ang arte lang, haha 🤣🤣🤣

That’s the reason why Harold brought me here in I Love Bucket Shrimps in Mactan. (Awww thanks Harold, ang harowt haha!🤣) This restaurant was just perfect for my cravings. The food here is affordable and swak sa budget. This was what I needed, a distraction from all the stresses and hoping that time would just tarry a little while so I could enjoy and appreciate every bit of these moments. ❤️

And most especially I could get the chance to take photos. And these photos are some of my favorites. Personally, they are so aesthetically pleasing to the eyes… Right? Ako lang siguro nagandahan, charowt! haha 🥹 What do you think?

I Love Bucket Shrimps has several branches in Cebu but the one we tried was in Mactan, Lapu-Lapu because this is just for me the perfect place to eat seafood and it’s location is along the wharf where one can sightsee beautiful sea-neries. But be sure when you plan to visit here, check the weather first because some parts of the restaurant is in open area.(in case it rains) You won’t be able to see sunset and other beautiful views, if the weather won’t cooperate, ganern! But if you are after for the food only, go lang ng go waynat! Haha🤣

I Love Bucket Shrimps restaurant in Mactan is cool. Its interior and exterior design as well as it’s structure is pretty nice to my taste. It reminds me of the movie, Baywatch. Basta mga ganern na movie yung ang setting nasa beach! haha 🥹

If you are allergic to shrimp and other seafood, you may choose from their chicken and pork menus.

Inside the restaurant is a small stall that sells milk tea and other refreshments.

What we ordered

Shrimp Cajun Php 440.00 - the cajun sauce is so yummy kulang nalang iiinumin ko yung sauce. HAHA! Then the serving of the shrimps are enough for 2 to 3 people. Actually, naramihan kami sa shrimps but we still ubos them kasi ang sherepppp!!!🤤

Calamares Php 200.00 - the squid meat is tender and flavorful. Naka-add ng sarap yung suka(vinegar), fave ko naman talaga din pag suka yung sauce lalo na yung tuba na suka ughhhh sherepppp!🤤

Naked wings Php 280.00 - I think these naked wings were grilled, the color for me seems unappetizing lol because they looked like burnt haha so it's not naked after all kasi dinamitan ng black thingy. HAHA joke lang! Ang corny! but as I tasted it, the chicken meat was tender and delicious! Lami diay ng maghubo na wings! HAHA joooooke.🤣

rice(2) Php 60.00 - Well if you are a rice kind of person, maka add ka talaga ng maraming kanin sa sarap ng mga pagkain. hehe 😊

ice tea pitcher Php 100.00 - We should have ordered coke at that time but it was sold out, that's why we opted for an ice tea.

A total of Php 1,080.00 - Very sulit, affordable and yummy foooooods. Overall experience 9/10. The order took awhile to serve maybe because there were many costumers at that time nevertheless we just enjoyed the time waiting while savoring the view of sea-neries.. 🙂

How to eat here is kind of fun. You are not going to use plates or cutlery. You are going to eat on a table covered with manila paper and then with a thin white paper which serves as your plate. You’re going to eat with your hands. (finger licking good yarn 🤣) That empty bucket will serve as the trash bin for the residues of what you have eaten like shrimp shells, chicken bones, etc.

As you can see, it was already dark when the food was served. Then I told Harold not to eat yet because I was going to take photos… And he was not happy. HAHA! Gutom na talaga yarn! HAHAHA. Serry ne keshe fer the bleg eh.🥲

Before ending this blog, I am posting here more snaps which I took there.

I was astonished with this photo. It seems that 3 boats are there, the big sand cargo ship, the half sunken ship (maybe caused by Odette) and the small boat. This photo reminded me of the Biblical story, David and Goliath. (even if there's no connection at all haha basta lang it reminded me hahahaha🤣) You may not see any connection at all, basta for me, it reminded me that we are all capable of achieving great things, that we can be a hero in our own narrative, and that we should never ever give up on our dreams(Charrrrrr dziba!🤣)This place appears to be a perfect spot to find inspiration to continue living life despite all odds. ❤️

Anyway, you must try I Love Bucket Shrimp in Mactan. The warm and inviting ambiance is perfect for friends and families alike. What sets them apart is their unique way of serving their shrimp dishes in a bucket that’s perfect for sharing. The restaurant also offers other seafood dishes such as sinigangbang shrimp, tuna panga and even pompano fullfish, perfect for those who want to try something different. You’ll surely be satisfied with their generous servings of delicious seafood.

There are lots of restaurants here in Cebu that offers the same food, but sometimes the location can affect the customer’s mood and appetite. Dziba? Wala lang, I'm just happy to be here lang jud!hehe 😊😊😊

HOW TO GET THERE

If you have a vehicle or if you take a taxi, just navigate through the help of Google Map or Waze to Mactan Wharf Village , Ibo, Philippines. If you plan to ride a public transit, you can take a jeepney or bus from Mandaue Pacific Mall to Mactan, Lapu-Lapu and then disembark at Island Central Mactan. Then just ask for direction to locate you to Mactan Wharf. It’s just a short walking distance from the mall to I love Bucket Shrimps.
