Sunrise at Panglao Beach: A Reminder to Enjoy Nature’s Beauty

Have you ever experienced a breathtaking sunrise that left you speechless? That was exactly what I felt during my recent trip to Panglao. Well not exactly a trip but a work-related kinda trip. I was just happy and proud with myself for being able to wake up early (only at that time, lols😅) because I am not a morning kind of person but you know, I just couldn’t leave this place without witnessing the glory of Panglao’s sunrise, that’s why when 5 AM hit the alarm I hurriedly went outside the room and rushed directly to the beach just wearing PJs, haha!😅 I looked at my phone and I was ecstatic and thrilled because it had full bars of battery and I could capture lotsa photos and then my phone malfunctioned and died and literally made me speechless as in literal ahuhuhuh!😭😭😭

Anyway, as I witnessed the sunrise, I was in awe with the beauty of nature that surrounded me. The calm waters glistened as the sun’s rays slowly peeked above the horizon, painting the sky with a beautiful display of warm colors of orange, pink and red. The sea was calm and serene, and the sound of the waves gently crashing on the shore provided a soothing melody to the soul. The clouds, just for a brief moment, created a scene like a stage, flaunting their magnificence and showing off their brilliance. It’s always interesting to observe different activities happening on the beach. While some people and I enjoyed watching the sunrise, others may be fulfilling their daily duties, as well. Regardless, the beach is a place where one can experience different emotions and create unique memories.

Anyhoo, without further ado, here are some photographs I captured at those very moments!

But as soon I captured more photos, my phone was unable to capture due to overheating and malfunctioning and then suddenly it turned off! When I pressed the power ON button, it wouldn’t open. So many scenes that I am still yearning to capture. I was literally speechless and felt really disappointed. My phone that I used in blogging, vlogging, making reels and TikTok’s and everything in between just turned blaaaaack! Like what the fuuuuuuudge!!! I wanted to cry…😭😭😭 But then again I wouldn’t let this bad experience in Panglao ruin my experience! I guess I just have to fix this when I go back to Cebu. So maybe what I had to do was simply enjoy and appreciate the moment without the distraction of technology. (pero overthink malala talaga ako dito, kasi wala na akong pera send help hahaha🥹🥹🥹)

Initially, I felt disappointed that I could not capture more moments, but then I realized that sometimes, it is better to live in the moment rather than to capture the moments. This sunrise in Panglao reminded me of the beauty of simplicity and the importance of savoring every moment. It reminded me that sometimes, the best moments in life are the ones that you cannot capture on a camera.

So, next time you find yourself at Panglao Beach to catch the sunrise, take a moment to put aside your phone and truly immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. Relax, breathe in the fresh air, and let the sunrise take your breath away. This sight reminds us of the significance of cherishing simple moments that bring us joy and peace. Nature never fails to amaze us with its beauty, leaving us in awe and grateful for its artistry. Let us take a moment to pause and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. This memory will forever be etched in our mind.

Remember, the best way to appreciate the beauty of nature is by experiencing it firsthand. Although capturing the perfect Instagram-worthy shot may seem tempting, it’s more important to fully immerse yourself in the moment and savor every second of it.

Chasing Potatoes

Why Chasing Potatoes? I’m Chasing Potatoes. I chase time and opportunities because just like round potatoes they roll and get lost. I chase them to store memories to last a lifetime. I make haste, running after them, fearful that they might be gone. That’s why I go places on land or in water. My story tells about the journey of chasing time and saying yes to wonderful opportunities.

  1. Those are incredible photos. Sorry about your phone. When I was young there were no cell phones, so it was easier to enjoy moments of beauty. Well we had cameras but you didn’t use them the same way. You took a photo and hoped it would turn out good when you arrived back home, and you didn’t worry too much if it didn’t.

    1. Thank you! I’m glad you like them. I agree that it can be difficult to enjoy moments of beauty when you’re constantly worried about capturing them on camera. I’m trying to be more mindful of that in the future. 🙂

I’ll keep the sunrise in mind next time I visit Panglao.
“It is better to live in the moment rather than to capture the moments.” Beautiful thought. I totally agree. The best “photos” are those not captured by a camera.
