My MAY Diaries Between Island and City

First and Second Week of May 2024

Here’s a glimpse into the first two weeks of May! Hopefully, I can persevere in sharing the mundane moments of my life here and avoid letting lethargy dominate me. Lol! 😂 I’ve taken up keeping a weekly journal to track the little things.

Sip and Learn at SANDALO VINEYARDS Wine Appreciation Course

I’ve always been an adventurer and I love exploring new places. I thought I had explored everything the island had to offer, but I was recently surprised to learn that there is a wine appreciation course offered on the island! I am a local but work in the city, so I don’t get to visit Bantayan Island. When I heard about the it, I knew I had to sign up. Oh jiva? 🥂🤫

Exploring the Irresistible Street Food Delights of Bohol

I am not really that adventurous when it comes to eating different kinds of foods because I am always a bit cautious of trying new foods from different places 🙃. But today, I am feeling daring. I’ll just cross my fingers and hope for the best🤞! I’m not afraid to try new foods, even if they’re a bit risky. If I get sick, I’ll just laugh it off and tell a funny story later. HAHAHA! 🤣

Chilling in Bohol, but Dreaming of More

Imagine sleeping on top of a mountain without a tent.

My friends and I did just that when we went to BOHOL! We laid our exhausted bodies on a tarp, enveloped by the cold breeze until night came. The blanket of stars began to fill the sky above. As time went by, the sea of clouds woke us up early in the morning, just below us. It was one of the best views I have ever seen. We also witnessed the pink sunset over the Chocolate Hills and saw the beautiful landscapes of the Cadapdapan Rice Terraces. We also visited the astounding Can-umantad Falls, which presented marvels to our sights. Later that day, we also swam in the mystic Canawa Spring, whose depth is unknown to anyone. Those were the times my memories were etched in my mind, such unforgettable times in BOHOL. It was such an adventurous time that I told myself I had to go back. 🫡

Trying Out “I LOVE BUCKET SHRIMPS” in Mactan With Stunning Views of the Sea and Sunset

Sometimes, satisfying my cravings for food by buying and cooking it at home is not enough. I still yearn for a better place to savor the kind of meal I desired — a place which would awaken my senses, where I would watch the sun set on the horizon, view the sea, the clouds, the sky as it changes its colors; and then catch the sight of the moon and stars as they begin to show off their radiance, observe the boats pass by, hear the ocean waves as they splash against the seawall, smell the salty breeze of the ocean, feel the refreshing air as it caresses my skin and, of course, indulge myself the flavors of these savory food that I have been yearning for a long time. Dzibah, ang arte lang, haha 🤣🤣🤣

OLANGO ISLAND: Food Tripping Makes Adventure More Exciting

I’ve been to this island thrice already. The first time was because of Richelle and her now hubby’s prenuptial shoot when my friend and I where the ones who took their photos. It was a memorable visit for me not just because I had set foot on this island but also because I had the opportunity to shoot for a prenup again despite my limited equipment. I only had an 85mm lens, no reflectors, no other accessories at all! Nevertheless, I was extremely happy with the outcome of the photographs.
