Sights Seen by a First Time Visitor in Manila Who Never Thought of Seeing Them
Find time to explore around. You’ll never know what adventure may lie ahead. It may be climbing mountains, swimming in beach resorts, visiting museums or strolling around boulevards. Go out, capture scenic moments. Learn and have a meaningful experience. Gather memories and gain knowledge. Trust me, they’re good for the body and soul. – Chasing Potatoes
I’ve been to Manila a number of times, but I never got the chance to go places. My routine was answering the demands of work and of sleep. Schedule was always not enough. Then one lucky day, one of my colleagues accidentally booked our flight back to Cebu on a Sunday, so we had an extra non-working day which was Saturday. Horrraaaah! We could explore and roam around the city but we have to dig our own pocket for the expenses, of course.
There are a lot of tourist spots in Metro Manila but these were the only places we visited due to limited time.
1. Roxas Boulevard
We went photowalking here while waiting for the sun to set. It’s a perfect place for photowalks. A lot of beautiful subjects can be photographed here. Just be mindful of your valuables in case you like to be here, too. I had fun strolling in this place while watching the setting sun, taking photos and meeting new people.
2. National Museums
Well, my main purpose was just to take photos; but I never thought I would enjoy looking at the remnants of our history. I’m really planning to come back here and spend my whole time reading and observing the elements of our past.
We visited two museums this day.
3. Bonifacio Global City (BGC)
I thought BGC are purely buildings, skyrises with corporate people walking in and out; but, guess what? There are also art works lurking in nooks and corners. If you’re into wall or mural art, you better check this place and see these art pieces for yourself. I am always amazed with art and creativity that’s why I was so happy I saw these in BGC.
4. The Venice Grand Canal Mall
Photos of this place that sprouted on social media made us curious, so we visited it. It was really a shopping mall where one can enjoy the Venice-inspired scenery like the canal, the Gondola ride and that statue of a man that moved if money was placed in a box, and many more. I didn’t know how that statue was called, haha! But, yeah, I had fun.
- How to get there: Well I’m really thankful to google Map and Grab. Haha
- All photos were taken with Huawei P9 except my featured which was captured by Kevin.
Those naughty potatoes roll so fast that I could hardly catch up with them in Manila. I wonder what place will they be venturing next. So stay tuned for my next chasing potato adventure.
So that’s it, those are the places I visited in Manila. I know there are still a lot of places to be visited there, so where shall I go next? Any recommendations? I would love to hear from you? Please connect thru my FB page and Instagram. Join me in my adventure and misadventure. Let’s chase those potatoes. OH YESSS! Thanks for visiting.
